Victoria “Tori” Alvarado

Victoria “Tori” is an MSW intern at Grand Canyon University (GCU) with a passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges and recognize their strengths. Her professional interests center around therapy and mental health, particularly working with children, individuals, and families.

Through her clinical experience, Tori enjoys creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable expressing their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. She values building strong, trusting therapeutic relationships and believes that meaningful connections are an important part of the healing process. Her approach is compassionate, client-centered, and strengths-based, with a focus on helping clients develop healthy coping skills, improve emotional regulation, strengthen communication, and work toward their personal goals.

Tori has a special passion for working with children and families, supporting them through emotional and behavioral challenges while recognizing the importance of family involvement and collaboration. She hopes to continue growing as a therapist and use her education, clinical experience, and genuine passion for helping others to make a positive and lasting impact in the lives of the people she serves.

Outside of school and her work in therapy, Tori is a proud football mama. She stays busy supporting her family, cheering from the sidelines, and celebrating every accomplishment along the way. For Tori, being a social worker and therapist is more than a career—it is an opportunity to connect with others, empower them through difficult moments, and be part of their journey toward growth and positive change.
